Salvation: Mom, are you really sure that Islam is the truth?

Mom, is Islam Really the Truth?
This is a picture of the Alema of Warri Kingdom, High-Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan — the husband of Senator, Natasha Hadiza Akpoti — observing the Ṣalāh prayer in his wife’s city of Ihima, Kogi Central, Ebira land. It was the day of Eid al-Adha on June 16, 2024 as seen on Hamza Lamisi's page on Facebook.
This reminds me so much of my grandfather, the late Chief, Ash-Shaykh, Al-Imaam, Mas'ud Ọláńrewájú Adépọ̀jù, the Aláàsá of Ìbàdàn land who once practiced Christo-Islam before embracing Islam fully at the age of 45.
He was always an objective man of truth — constantly searching, constantly seeking. From traditional religions to Christianity, he explored everything. He practiced Christianity so deeply that he even became a pastor. At one point, he tried hard to convert his parents to Christianity because he sincerely believed it was the truth.
But he was also a research addict — a man who never stopped reading, questioning, and seeking. At 45, his journey led him to Islam, and he embraced it wholeheartedly. He even built a mosque in his house and went on to establish Islamic organizations. In his later years, he invited people to Islam intensely. My favourite habit of his is when he would tell capable Muslims to build houses of worship — Masjid.
He had a library that filled an entire upstairs floor of his home. He was always reading, always thinking — and always snacking, because his mind never stopped working. He was hungry for the light of knowledge.
If he had ever discovered that Islam was false, he would have left it. But all praises belong to ALLAH, who guided him to remain Muslim from 45 until his death at 83.
But is Islam truly the truth? For those inclined to seek answers, I invite you to this clarifying word of truth.
I wrote it. I am an author, and the subject of salvation is one of my areas of interest.
When I was around 9 years of age, I asked my Mum how she became certain that Islam was the truth. Please note that my Mum accepted Islam in her twenties. I was always asking questions. Well, as an adult, I now understand why many adults can't stand me as a kid. My poor parents! 🤣🤣😎
By the way, ALLAH means (The-God)
Islam means (Submission)
And,
Muslim means (One who submits to The-God)
Verily, all praises belong to ALLAH who has bestowed upon me the gift of autism.
Sincerely,
Hamidah Abbas | Author, Polygamy Ijma'a
Afterthought: I always forget that my Mom was once a non-Muslim. Until she tells stories or shares pictures. She used to wear heels and live the socialite life. Despite all the pictures that I've seen and the stories I've heard, sometimes it just doesn't click. She literally teaches her customers how to observe Salah. She would place the shahadah on people's tongue. Indeed, one of the greatest miracles of life is how people can change. There's nothing like, “those are the believers”. Anyone can become a believer. It is open to every human. Verily, How far from imperfections is ALLAH!
