Say Shhh: The Secret Muscle Behind Powerful Recitation...  📩
To recite the Qur'an,
Your voice is not sufficient.
You also need your stomach.

Well, you need a muscle close to your stomach.
This muscle is called a diaphragm,
it is part of the machine that you need to breathe

If you're constantly running out of breath while reciting the Qur'an,
It means your diaphragm is not strong enough.
So how can we make the diaphragm stronger?

I need you to pretend that you're a teacher for a minute
Pretend that your students are making loads of noise
So say shhhhhh to them
Say it with all of your strength
Say it like you mean it.
Say shhhhhh like the noise is super annoying.

You see that muscle that you've just felt when you said shhhhhh, it is the diaphragm.

It is that which needs to become strong so that you can recite from the diaphragm
It is that which needs to become strong so that you'll stop running out of breath.
It is that which you need to engage more so that your recitation can become more possible.

Buy some balloons. That's your assignment. You actually need to go and buy balloons. Yes, that balloon that's used for decorations. Yes that 🎈. Go and purchase it. and keep practicing with it until you can recite Suratul Fatiha in one breath, I'll keep practicing too, In Sha ALLAH. And may Almighty ALLAH grant all of us success.

This has been the 2 Minutes Tajweed for today.

Sincerely,

Hamidah Abbas | Author, Polygamy Ijma'a
