Why I call myself an Artist

Why I call Myselt an Artist BismiLLAH AlhamduliLLAH I am Hamidah Abbas , an Islamic thinker. I completed the Muslim Intellectual Development Program (Sharī'ah Intelligence Training) on 17 June 2026 . The five-day training was held at Bayseone Hall, opposite the NASFAT praying ground, Samonda, Ibadan, Oyo State. It was organised by the Da'wah Institute of Nigeria, Islamic Education Trust (IET), Minna, in collaboration with the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN). As a thinker, I have many interests and areas of research. However, my core area of interest is gender and polygamy in Islam . A simple way to summarise everything I do is: Spreading light. Whether it is “music”, salvation, agriculture, gender and polygamy in Islam, or society, my objective has always been to make things a little brighter than they were before. For me, it has always been light over darkness . I am from Ìbàdàn, Oyo State, Nigeria . I hold a Bachelor of Agriculture degree from the Fed...

When Life Feels Delayed: Lessons from the Story of Prophet Ibrahim (Alayhi Salaam)

If there have been many delays in your journey in life, then the story of Prophet Ibrahim (Alayhi Salaam), his household, and his descendants is the perfect antidote for you.

A Life of Divine Delay and Divine Purpose

Prophet Ibrahim (Alayhi Salaam) is the close friend of ALLAH, yet he did not have a child until a very old age. Then, after finally being blessed with a child, he was commanded to leave his wife and infant son in a barren desert, far from people.

And later, he was also commanded to sacrifice that same beloved son—despite being among the most beloved of ALLAH.

He is so close to ALLAH that, as mentioned in authentic narrations, he is in the 7th heavens (closest to ALLAH), while Prophet Musa (Alayhi Salaam) is in the sixth heaven.

My point is simple: even someone so beloved to ALLAH experienced long delays, intense trials, and moments that looked like abandonment.

Delay Is Not Rejection

What I am trying to say is this:

If your life is filled with hardships, it does not necessarily mean that ALLAH is angry with you.

In fact, it could be that miracles are already in motion when everything around you looks like delay.

The Miracles Born from Delay

The delayed childbirth in the story of Prophet Ibrahim led to some of the greatest blessings in history, including:

  • The establishment of the sacred city of Makkah
  • The blessing of Zamzam water
  • The rituals of Hajj and Umrah
  • The Sa’i between Safa and Marwa

All of these are connected to the blessed family of Prophet Ibrahim (Alayhi Salaam).

Even the ritual of sacrifice during Eid al-Adha traces back to him—the father of the believers, the intimate friend of ALLAH, and the ancestor of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.,

Takeaways

Here are the core lessons:

1) Do not despair at all.
2) Delay could mean a miracle is being prepared.
3) Hardship does not mean ALLAH is angry with you—it may mean preparation for an extraordinary blessing.

Final Reflection

If you are hoping for a miracle from ALLAH (The Most High), increase in sending salutations upon the family of Prophet Ibrahim (Alayhi Salaam), for their story is the ultimate story of miracles.

And perhaps your delay is not denial—but divine preparation.

Sincerely,
