Why I call Myselt an Artist BismiLLAH AlhamduliLLAH I am Hamidah Abbas , an Islamic thinker. I completed the Muslim Intellectual Development Program (Sharī'ah Intelligence Training) on 17 June 2026 . The five-day training was held at Bayseone Hall, opposite the NASFAT praying ground, Samonda, Ibadan, Oyo State. It was organised by the Da'wah Institute of Nigeria, Islamic Education Trust (IET), Minna, in collaboration with the Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN). As a thinker, I have many interests and areas of research. However, my core area of interest is gender and polygamy in Islam . A simple way to summarise everything I do is: Spreading light. Whether it is “music”, salvation, agriculture, gender and polygamy in Islam, or society, my objective has always been to make things a little brighter than they were before. About Life

What's Life?

Life's a design from ALLAH.

Life is an artwork from ALLAH. HE designed us and gave us life for the purpose of testing us, and HE is the Most Compassionate Tester, the Most Merciful Examiner. And verily, all praises belong to HIM, for HE is the Most High.

Why did Almighty ALLAH give us life?

  • Because HE, Jalaluhu, wanted to.
  • Because HE, Jalajalaluhu, wanted to test us.
  • Because life is good for us in both worlds.
  • Because being tested is good for us in both worlds.
  • Because it's good for all that exists from among the people, creatures, and all that exists of the past, the present, and the future, if ALLAH wills.

So, we've established that life has been given to us as a test. So let's discuss life as a test.

A few teachings of wisdom to help you succeed at the test of life

The reality that everything is good for you, even if it seems like everything is going bad.

Life is a Test

"You've been created so that we will know the one that's best among you in deeds." — Qur'an 67:2.

The deed of cooking, eating, mating, are all tests. Everything is a test.

Everything is a Test

  • The test of facial expressions.
  • The test of being a parent.
  • The test of having a family.
  • The test of not having a family.
  • The test of sickness.
  • The test of having evil parents.
  • The test of having great parents.
  • The test of having great children.
  • The test of having evil children.
  • The test of being part of the society.
  • The test of being isolated.
  • The test of having security.
  • The test of being in a warzone.
  • The test of being poor.
  • The test of being rich.
  • The test of clothing.
  • The testing of feelings (being arrogant, having honour, wanting to be supreme).
  • The test of food.
  • The test of bathing.
  • The test of creativity.
  • The test of not knowing what the future holds.
  • The test of not being given what you truly want.
  • The test of being an artist.
  • The test of being part of the society.
  • The test of alcohol.
  • The test of music.
  • The test of sexual desires.
  • The test of marriage.

Beware of Temptations that could make you fail any of the tests of life listed above

  • The temptation of being controlling as a parent/child(ren).
  • The temptation/thirst of being the number one artist all of the time.
  • The temptation of killing people.
  • The temptation of causing enmity among people.
  • The temptation of character assassinating people.
  • The temptation of taking by force what was never given to you through rape/black magic, power abuse, etc.

Pass the Test of Life

(be creative, put strategies in place, recognise your temptations and move accordingly)

If you know you struggle super strongly with chastity, then avoid mixed gatherings with extreme avoidance. If you know you struggle with power abuse, then stay away from power as much as humanly possible. If you struggle with submitting to ALLAH and you're constantly battling with the temptation to launch marketing strategies that'll make people dress, drink, and eat in humiliating ways that's full of darkness, then stay away completely from the tools of mass control that you have. Let go of your power to control the media.

If you hate ALLAH and you want the majority of people to hate ALLAH too, and you've already hired thousands of professors to distort the true message from ALLAH, resist that temptation. Put all of your energy into overcoming the strong enmity you have for your Creator. Hire professors that'll help you love your Creator instead of hiring those who will help the world hate your Maker, who loves you so strongly and gave you the means of abundant money and wealth.

BismiLLAH AlhamduliLLAH One unexpected aspect of this training is that, so far, being in a room and sitting for multiple hours with people who hold different opinions on so many issues, yet remaining together in harmony, has done something to me that no amount of studying could ever do. In addition, witnessing the excellence of the Da'wah Institute has been a thing of beauty. Receiving the 322-page manual and other materials from the institute, the ID card, the commitment to punctuality, the quality of the refreshments, the exercise sessions, and even the depth of thought behind the name game—SubhanaLLAH. In case you have not noticed, I am a fan of very few people.
